Plampras Hotel

Chandolin and friends of Ella Maillart wished to pay homage to the traveler, writer and photographer who was, for half a century (1946-1997) one of the village's most illustrious guests. A permanent display was installed in Chandolin's former Saint-Barbe chapel, located in the old part of the village. The exhibition also recalls her career as a sportswoman and lecturer. Drawn from Ella Maillart's collection of images and documents, several showcases display photographs, drawings, articles, posters and objects collected during her travels.
